The most thoroughly and relentlessly Damned, banned, excluded, condemned, forbidden, ostracized, ignored, suppressed, repressed, robbed, brutalized and defamed of all Damned Things is the individual human being. How could you tell how much of it was lies? It might be true that the average human being was better off now than he had been before the Revolution. Our parents wanted us to act like the other children in our neighborhood; they emphatically did not want a boy or girl who seemed “weird or “different” or [Heaven forefend] “too damned clever by far.”

Then we enter grade school, a fate worse than Death and Hell combined. Whether we land in a public school or a private religious school, we learn two basic lessons:

1. There exists one correct answer for every question;
    and
2. education consists of memorizing the one correct answer and regurgitating it on an “examination.”

The same tactics continue through high school and, except in a few sciences, even to the university.

Einfache klare und logische Sätze. Und so schön eingängig. Auf den ersten Blick. Auf den zweiten Blick sind sie vollkommen sinnlos. Aber es geht hier nicht um die RAF. Die Berichterstattung über Christian Klar im Dezember 2008 hat in mir nur den Wunsch geweckt Robert Anton Wilsons Ideen aus dem Buch “Quantum Psychology” zusammenzufassen.

Logik ist für uns ganz einfach. Jeden Tag bestimmt sie unser Leben. “Die Ampel ist grün” ist eine wahre Aussage in der aristotelischen Logik. “Die Ampel ist rot, daher halte ich an” genauso. Fast alles beschreiben wir auf diese Art und Weise. Unsere ganze Sprache ist durchwachsen von “ist ein” Aussagen die eine Wahrheit oder Falschheit mit beinhalten. “Ich bin krank.” “Du bist doof.”

Und natürlich, wenn die Ampel rot ist halten wir. Ist ja logisch, oder nicht? Oder nicht?

Wilson stolpert über das Beispiel: “John ist unglücklich und griesgrämig” und “John ist fröhlich und lustig”. Es gibt zwei Zeugen, die diese sich wiedersprechenden Aussagen machen. Beide schwören: “Meine Aussage ist wahr”. Wie kann das sein? Das ist doch ein klarer logischer Widerspruch. Wie kann John gleichzeitig unglücklich und fröhlich sein?

Hier klafft das Problem in unserer Sprache: Die Absolutheit. Dinge sind immer etwas. Und wenn Dinge etwas sind, können sie es nur ganz und gar sein und nicht gleichzeitig etwas gegensätzliches. Dieses Problem, sagt Wilson, stammt aus der aristotelischen Logik und Philosophie.

“Die Schwäche der aristotelischen “Seinsheit” oder “Washeit” Aussagen liegt in der Annahme der innewohnenden “Dingheit”, die Annahme das jedes “Objekt” etwas enthält, was der zynische deutsche Philosoph Max Stirner als “Spuk” [spooks] bezeichnet.”

Wir gehen unbewusst immer davon aus, dass alles eine Art Essenz hat, die von innen heraus das Sein bestimmt. Wie der Volksmund sagt: “Die Dinge sind nun mal wie sie sind.” Spätestens die Quantenphysik zeigt aber auf, dass diese Annahmen grundlegend falsch sind. Und das hat Auswirkungen auf unser tägliches Leben und denken.

Ein Stein des Anstoßes war die Eigenschaft von Licht: Lange stritten die Wissenschaftler, ob Licht eine Welle “ist” oder ein Teilchen “ist”. Verschiedene Versuche kommen zu gegensätzlichen Ergebnissen. Nach langem hin und her ist man zu dem Schluss gekommen: Licht ist weder das eine, noch das andere. Doch die ganze Diskussion entstammt eben dieser artistotelischen Denkweise und lässt sich einfach lösen. Wir lassen die bekannte Sprache und Logik hinter uns und verwenden eine Sprache, die nur Beziehungen darstellt. Dann ist mit dem Satz: “Licht kann in bestimmten Experimenten die Eigenschaft von Wellen und in anderen die Eigenschaft von Teilchen zeigen” alles geklärt. Licht “ist” nichts, weil ihm keine tiefere Wahrheit innewohnt. Tiefere Wahrheiten kann man weder sehen noch messen. Unsere Welt besteht immer nur aus Beziehungen und Interaktionen.

Ein einfaches Beispiel ohne Quantenphysik: Sonnenlicht ist nicht warm. Es hat keine Eigenschaft der Wärme und beinhaltet auch kein warmsein. Richtig ist nur, Sonnenlicht kann ein Gefühl der Wärme auf unserer Haut erzeugen.

“Is,” “is.” “is” — the idiocy of the word haunts me. If it were abolished, human thought might begin to make sense. I don’t know what anything “is”; I only know how it seems to me at this moment.

Wenn wir jetzt zu John zurückkommen, können wir auch das Problem der widersprüchlichen Aussagen ganz einfach lösen: “John scheint im Büro unglücklich und griesgrämig zu sein und John scheint fröhlich und lustig zu sein, wenn er am Strand ist”.
Das ist eigentlich viel zu einfach und einleuchtend, hat aber ungeheure Auswirkungen. All diese Urteile, die wir fast automatisch in unserer Sprache zementieren sind vollkommen sinnfrei. Das fängt an, bei der Diskussion darum, ob etwas dunkelblau oder schwarz ist und endet noch lange nicht mit dem Satz “Die deutschen sind ein Tätervolk”.

Besonders drastische Folgen hat es aber auf jede Form von Glauben und Metaphysik. Was soll ich jetzt mit Aussagen wie “Jeder Mensch hat eine Seele” oder “Der christliche Gott ist der einzig wahre Gott” machen?

Für Wissenschaftler […] erscheint eine Idee dann als nichtssagend, wenn wir sie nicht einmal theoretisch überprüfen können. Als Beispiel würden die meisten Wissenschaftler folgende drei Aussagen als nichtssagend einstufen:

1. Das frammische Goskit destimiert das blaue Dosh an runden Donnerstagen. [Anmerkung des Übersetzers: Ja, es sind frei erfundene Worte]
2. Alle Lebewesen enthalten eine Seele, die nicht gesehen oder gemessen werden kann.
3. Gott hat mir befohlen dir zu sagen, dass du kein Fleisch essen sollst.

Im Gegensatz dazu gibt es Aussagen, über deren Wahrheitsgehalt wir im Moment genau so wenig aussagen können, die wir aber theoretisch prüfen könnten.  “Um den Stern Sirius kreist ein Planet” oder “Atlantis hat niemals existiert” sind solche Aussagen. Im Moment wissen wir nicht, ob sie wahr oder falsch sind, aber prüfbar wäre es vermutlich.

Auf diese Art und Weise kommen wir zu einer Logik, die nicht nur zwei Wahrheitswerte enthält (Wahr und Falsch), sondern vier:

1. Wahr
2. Falsch
3. Unbekannt aber prüfbar
4. Unbekannt und unprüfbar

Alles Aussagen der vierten logischen Kategorie sind spooks und tragen nichts zur Kommunikation sondern nur zu Verwirrung bei.

Beides, spooks in der Sprache und das logische System beeinflussen vieles in unserem Leben. 90% der kulturellen und politischen Differenzen könnten sich in Luft auflösen. Über Leitkultur müsste nicht mehr geredet werden, da jedem die Sinnlosigkeit des Begriffs klar würde. Jegliche Form von Religion könnte endlich als das wahrgenommen werden, was es wirklich ist: eine private rein psychologische Sache. Für so etwas führt man doch keine heiligen Kriege, oder?
